Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has once again been embarrassed by his strange statement. This time Khawaja Asif claimed to have hacked the IPL floodlights. Speaking in the Pakistani Parliament, Asif claimed that his country’s ‘cyber warriors’ had switched off the stadium lights during the IPL match in India.
Khwaja Asif was possibly referring to the match played between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala on May 8, which was called off midway due to a technical glitch in the field. The decision to stop the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals midway was taken due to security reasons. Actually, India took revenge for the Pahalgam terrorist attack by launching Operation Sindoor, after which a situation of tension remained between the armies of the two countries.
Asif claimed, ‘India is not understanding that all this is completely indigenous technology of Pakistan. Our cyber warriors attacked India and turned off the lights in the cricket stadium. The match had to be stopped because the lights went out. Water was released from Indian dams, their power grids were shut down.’
He further said, ‘All these attacks, cyber attacks were carried out by our warriors.’ This 29-second clip of Asif spread like wildfire on social media. Asif was trolled a lot online. Users scolded the Defense Minister of Pakistan and also ridiculed him a lot.
