INTERNATIONALIran breaks ties with IAEA, Ahal bill passed in Parliament

Iran’s parliament passed a bill on Wednesday. Iran has decided to sever ties and suspend cooperation with the United Nations nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). News agency Reuters has given this information quoting the outlet NoorNews.

According to the report, the final approval of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council is also required to implement this step. This step has been taken when Iran has fought a 12-day war with Israel. According to the bill, the installation of surveillance cameras, permission for inspections and submission of reports to the IAEA will remain suspended until then, Tehran’s Tasnim news agency reported on Monday (June 22, 2025), citing committee spokesman Ebrahim Rezaei.

Unless the security of nuclear facilities is guaranteed. However, Parliament still has to approve a bill in a plenary session in this regard.
