RENTON, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has announced a full closure of southbound I-405 between North Southport Drive/Sunset Boulevard Northeast (Exit 5) and State Route 167 starting 11:59 p.m. Friday, October 31, through 4 a.m. Monday, November 3.

Detour Route

During the closure, southbound I-405 drivers will be detoured to local streets, taking Exit 5 to Sunset Boulevard Northeast, continuing along Bronson Way North, Main Avenue South, and then reconnecting via South Grady Way. A signed detour route will be in place throughout the weekend.

 Project Details

Crews will be working on drainage crossings, paving, and completing traffic switch installations as part of ongoing improvements to the I-405 corridor.
WSDOT emphasized that the schedule is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled if conditions change.
