Major Muiz Abbas had ‘arrested’ India’s Wing Commander Abhinandan Vardhaman in Pakistan in 2019. This arrest was made when Abhinandan’s plane crashed in Pakistan and he was injured. Major Muiz had then made headlines by claiming his arrest, but Pakistan had to surrender and sent Wing Commander Abhinandan back safely.
Major Muiz Abbas Shah belonged to Chakwal, Pakistan and was an officer of the Special Service Group (SSG) of the Pak Army.
