Prime Minister Narendra Modi went on a two-day visit to Cyprus yesterday. During this time, PM Modi was given a grand welcome in Cyprus. At the same time, Cyprus President Nikos Christodulides awarded PM Modi with Cyprus’ highest honor ‘Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III’.Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed happiness over this honour. PM Modi has thanked Cyprus by sharing a post on social media.
Sharing the post on social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, “I am overwhelmed to be awarded Cyprus’ highest honor ‘Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III’. I dedicate this to the friendship of both the countries.” Along with this, PM Modi has also shared the video of this historic moment.
PM Modi said- I heartily congratulate the government of Cyprus and its people for this honour. This honour is not only mine but it is the honour of 140 crore Indians. It is an honour for the cultural brotherhood of our country and the ideology of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. I dedicate this award to the important relationship between India and Cyprus, our shared values and our mutual understanding.
PM Modi said, “On behalf of all Indians, I accept this honour with utmost humility and gratitude. I am confident that our dynamic partnership will touch greater heights in the times to come. Together, we will not only strengthen the development of our countries but also contribute to building a peaceful and secure global environment.”
