The wheels of a Saudi Arabian plane started smoking while landing at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport, Lucknow on Sunday morning, the video of which is going viral on social media. However, there is no damage to the plane and all the passengers have disembarked safely.
It has been learnt that this plane was coming from Jeddah to Lucknow, and while landing, smoke started coming out from its wheels. On receiving the information, the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) team reached the spot and brought the situation under control along with the Saudi team.
It was told that Saudi Arabia Airlines’ Airbus 330 had a hard landing on the runway which was wet due to rain. This is the only aircraft of this category that lands on Lucknow’s runway. Fire fighting protocol is given daily. Technical inspection did not reveal any fault in the aircraft, so the plane departed back on Sunday evening.
