The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has achieved a major success in the Pahalgam terror attack. Exactly two months after the massacre, the NIA has made it clear that the local people had helped in the attack. On Sunday, the NIA arrested two terror aides from Pahalgam who had provided food, accommodation and recce to the three Pakistani terrorists before the attack.
During interrogation, both the accused confessed that the three Pakistani terrorists who killed the tourists were from Lashkar-e-Taiba. Interrogation of both is still going on. After examining their mobile phones and other equipment, NIA has got many clues. After the attack, security agencies had expressed apprehension that locals had been involved in the attack. Kashmir-centric parties had also done a lot of politics on this issue.
Let us tell you that on April 22, terrorists killed 25 tourists and a local horseman in the Baisaran area, six kilometers away from Pahalgam. The terrorists fled from there after the attack. Security agencies claimed that five terrorists were involved in the attack, including two locals and a Pakistani. After the Pahalgam attack, India also launched Operation Sindoor to destroy terrorist bases in Pakistan.
After handing over the investigation of the massacre to the NIA, every aspect was investigated closely. However, the NIA already knew that only a local person could be helping in this case. By connecting every small link, the NIA team reached the aides. Both the terrorist aides named Parvez Ahmad Jothad resident Batkot, Pahalgam and Bashir Ahmad Jothad resident Hillpark, Pahalgam were arrested from their hideout.
It is said that both of them were changing their hideouts after the attack. During interrogation, both of them revealed that before the Pahalgam massacre, they had lodged three Lashkar terrorists in a dhok (hut) and had also provided them ration, water and other supplies. The three terrorists were hiding in Dhok until some time before the attack. It was here that they planned the entire massacre. After the attack, the terrorists moved to some other hideout.
