US President Donald Trump spoke about threats to his life during a press conference at the White House on Friday. In fact, the press conference was organised to celebrate the fact that the US Supreme Court has given the Presidential administration the freedom to implement its policies. During the press conference, Trump recalled the attacks on him and how risky this position is. When a reporter asked Trump about the threat to his life, he recalled the incident of firing on him at the Pennsylvania rally on July 13, 2024.
During the shooting incident on Trump on July 13, 2024, a bullet grazed his ear. The US President said, “Sometimes the tingling of that bullet is still felt. This is a dangerous job.” Trump also said that being president is one of the most dangerous professions. He said, “Race car drivers have a 0.1% chance of dying, bull riders have the same chance. But when you become president, that figure goes up to about 5%.
If someone had told me earlier, I probably wouldn’t have contested the elections.” According to Trump, he has been attacked several times since becoming president. In another incident, he was attacked while playing golf in West Palm Beach, Florida on September 15, 2024. A defendant in that case has been charged with five federal charges and has pleaded not guilty.
The man who attacked Trump during the event on July 13, 2024 was shot by the Secret Service. One person was killed and two others were injured at that rally.
